Who, what, when, where, why?

You (yes, you!) are invited to a baby shower cookout on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 from 4-8 PM at our house at to celebrate Lake and Hugh’s first baby!

Are men allowed at this baby shower? What about babies and kids? Other partners and/or plus ones?

Absolutely. Of course. Yes, please.

Where can I park?

You should be able to find parking in any space not marked “reserved” in our complex.

Do I need to bring a gift?

Nope, that’s totally optional. We have a baby registry though so if you want to get something, you can take a look at the gifts & registry page

What to expect:

We’re pretty laid back and definitely don’t have a strict agenda but here’s what we’re thinking:

4 PM: Get a drink, say hi to folks, start decorating a onesie

5 PM: Everyone shares what they brought for the time capsule

5:30 PM: Eat! Drink! Hang out! More craft time!

7 PM: Gift opening. Feel free to dip out early if watching someone open gifts isn’t your jam. But please stay if you want to see adorable small baby things!

Tell me about onesie decorating.

We bought a bunch of plain white onesies and want you to decorate them! We’ll have some art supplies as well as a printer with iron-on transfer paper (and an iron) so you can put a photo on it. If you do want to do the iron-on photo thing, you can email us the photo so we can go ahead and print it out ahead of time. And then when the baby wears your onesie, we’ll send you an adorable picture 🙂

What is the time capsule?

We are going to seal a box with items from our friends and family from 2024 for the baby (who will no longer be a baby) to open when they turn 18 in 2042. Please help us with this project by bringing something to include. It can be items like newspaper articles, magazines, toys, clothes, gadgets, flyers – really anything that captures the moment for you right now.

Lake is planning to make a 2024 slang dictionary – it’s gonna be lit, no cap! Slay.

Hugh’s parents made him a time capsule and it was pretty neat! They claimed the bottle of port leaked when he was 15 years old, but he was never sure if they just got impatient.
